Therapy support usually starts with free consultation to see if we’d be a good fit and to answer any questions you may have. Once we’ve met a few times, you’ll be connected to a client portal through which you can see availability and book your own sessions.
The best results usually start with building some momentum and getting past the ‘getting to know you’ stage. At Insight, the therapeutic relationship is considered to be the essential foundation for any successful outcome. Building that good working relationship quickly is a prime focus of the start of therapy. Deep, insightful conversations woven with practical goal setting and problem-solving develop from there. As the process unfolds, appointments tend to turn into less frequent check-ins and maintenance work. Clients move from weekly or biweekly, full hour video or in-person therapy to monthly to check-ins and back to weekly depending on their own needs.
While regular therapy is important, it isn’t mandatory. Insight therapists are also trained in brief solution focused techniques.
Insight offers Individual full hour therapy/counselling sessions in-person in Ottawa at the Shine Mental Health Collective downtown or over Zoom, as well as half-sessions and video/phone check-ins.
